Last week might be the hardest week for the company, its leaders, and the people.
Last April, we benched a quarter of our manpower to come-up with a better plan on how we as a company can strategically combat the market challenges due to COVID that are affecting our customers across all states we are servicing, both homeowner and renter. A month after, we slowly re-onboarded those who were benched and re-profiling the individuals based on the company's needs.
Just when we thought we have a working formula for hiring the right talent, come up with a better product, and work-on the processes that can scale -- we ended up cutting down 65% of our manpower due to the burn-rate the company is dealing with month after month throughout this pandemic.
Delivering the news and making sure we're doing the things we have to do, is one of the hardest part I have to carry-on (and this is true to every leader in the company who lost their men). It was a great loss to the company as the people who were let go are good and talented individuals who have shown greatness towards their work and have made huge contributions since the beginning. These people are dedicated and go above and beyond.. and I mean, above and beyond.
Like, who would have thought that:
- We were able to hit our target for the month after working at a cafe due to the earthquake storm (Q4, 2019) that hit Mindanao.
- We were able to exceed our numbers for the month after sending everyone to work from home due to COVID (Q2, 2020).
- We were able to sustain our Operational Cost til the last quarter of 2020.
- Computer Desktop Units
- Internet Modems
- WIFI Adapters (for mobile data, backup)
Email us at humanresources@onerent.co and will be more than happy to talk about the individual(s) who applied for a post in your company. We hope that these people who served their time well in Onerent will bring great value to your organization.
Where's Onerent now? We're still operating, we're regrouping, and we'll be disrupting the local grounds for our operational needs and the international markets we serve, soon. For the time being, as a company, our area of focus is going towards product innovation and internal-process overhaul.
Before the crisis, we, like every other company is doing well. Business is booming, days were glorious, our financial status is great. We always take pride in our satisfaction and attrition rate. I am confident, that once we go all-in once again (post-covid), we'll be able to attain these numbers.
